Singular Image, 2024

Save for the Chronographs my works are small, compact, visual ideas that I try to execute on a timely basis similar to a camera exposure.

My ideation is to work on new and different concepts, to offset boredom from repetition and to expand my visual vocabulary. My method is to problem solve as the process of visualization and execution differ, sometimes leading to failure.

Themes and motifs concern the act of image making, the history of photography and photographic processes, art history and contemporary culture, sex, politics, technology, the nature of time, human vision versus machine vision, chance and the creative process as well as autophotography.

I also view my work as living organisms that have their own life cycles. So, in addition to being a creator, I'm also a curator. [1]

[1] "Curating" does not necessarily mean "permanence": this site also acts as a visual "blackboard" with on-going erasures, additions and modifications.
